I have heard about the beauty of Ladakh and always wanted to head out for a trip when my friends told me about this jeep safari tour to Ladakh. We were 3 friends who went on this tour. We arrived at Srinagar and transferred to our hotel named Castle. The rooms were very neat and clean and also the service was good. Next day we continued our trip and reached Kargil. There another group of 3 joined us for the trip. Passing through the Zoji-La Pass was a great experience. Enroute we also visited Sonamarg and Baltal village. On our third, fourth and fifth day we covered Lamayuru, Nubra Valley and then back to Leh. On our sixth, seventh and eighth day we covered Pangong Lake, Tso mori and Jispa. When we visited Pangong Lake I just couldn’t take my eyes off the lake, it keeps changing its colour from greenish to bluish hues. While at the Tso Moriri Lake we saw variety of native and migratory birds. Our driver Karan handled the breathtaking mountain road curves very skillfully while being absolutely cautious and making long drives comfortable for us. We completed our tour on the 9th day and took the route to Manali via Rohtang Pass. It was a wonderful trip for us till the end of the day.

This Ladakh tour was wonderful since the planning for each day and the arrangement of everything from picking us up from the airport to the accommodation at each place were brilliantly done by the liveladakh team. The deep blue sky over the snow-capped peaks was amazing. There was a slight difficulty in breathing while we were going up the Khardung La Pass. We took one complete day to get accustomed to the climate. Lamayuru was looking so beautiful and we visited the monastery there as well as at Thiskey and Shey. The turquoise blue water in Pangong Lake had a distinct beauty. I don’t think the beauty of the lake is actually portrayed in the photos we see. You have to see it with the naked eye and then only you can enjoy the real charm the lake has. But due to increase in number of travellers lake is losing its charm as there are lot of restaurants open up, which is creating lot of waste.

I will tell that this place is one of the destinations no one should miss in life. Certainly, it is the paradise on Earth. Our experience in Ladakh was an awesome one and we will cherish each moment spent there always. I have but one advice that you should carry only BSNL post paid SIM, otherwise you will lose connection with your family for a long time. Very co-operative group of organizers came with us. Our booking through LiveLadakh.com was quite easy and the people contacted us till the date of the event regularly to inform us all about the departure. The trip took us to watch the best barren and rugged regions, unique flowers and trees and the typical Ladakhi culture. One should definitely need to visit Ladakh at least once in a lifetime.

Leh is one of the gems of India that to be protected always to keep our name glorified. We had a nice trip to Leh last September. The local people we met on the roads at Leh and nearby locations were too good and helpful. There are a lot of places to see in Ladakh like Leh Palace, Pangong Lake and Khardung La Pass are some of the most visited destinations. You will need a good fitness to complete long tours here as all the places are on high altitudes. There are lot of monasteries in Leh and all of them were beautiful with numerous prayer flags, Buddhist sculptures and paintings. Many monks have been walking around the gompas praying. One another major sight to watch is the Sangam Point where the Indus River and Zanskar River meet. We have done river rafting there though it was not an inclusion in the package. We liked it very much. It was wonderful trip.
